Speeds to Rotate

Can anyone tell me what I have to alter to get an aircraft airborne earlier than it wants to ??? I have a few BAC 1-11 on board (I belong to BEAV) but these aircraft seem to need a massive length of runway before they will rotate. I usually cut the grass at the end of most airports, a bit embarrasing online. I know it may divert from realism, but realism is not what I am getting anyway. I am sure a 1-11 should get airborne earlier. I have followed flying instructions for this plane but I cannot find a combination of speed, flaps, etc that works. At rec take off speed 130 kts.. no chance. Rec r/way is 6000ft. Any ideas ???

Try taking some of the fuel out. I had trouble getting the Project Airbus A320 off the runway until I started with a more sane level of fuel.

Select the Aircraft menu/Fuel from the menu bar within the game.

You might try reducing the overall weight of the aircraft as an alternative if you don't want to limit your range as a result of a lower fuel load.

To do this, open the aircraft.cfg file of the plane with notepad and scroll down to this section:

[WEIGHT_AND_BALANCE]
max_gross_weight=660000

:)Another option in editing aircraft config. is scroll down to the engine performance section and add more thrust.Ive done that to a few of my "lawnmowers",Like the B52. :)I know its cheating,but I have my doubts as to how realistic some of these models are to begin with.

Don't forget to add some trim.

What is the altitude of the airfield ?
You mentioned rwy being 6000 ft. think it is too little for the plane,

but never the less i often get 757's a300 a310, ... off on 3000-4000 ft runways. You should practice with STOL proceedures for some time; ;D ;D

Thanks fellas for all the replies. I am trying all. The Aircraft (BAC 1-11's) are from David Maltby and I am going by his BAC1-11 flying guide. Getting up a little earlier now, but still leaving tyre marks on Weston- Super- Mare beach and dead donkeys in my wake, if I use Bristol 09 ;D ;
Anish..small point, what does Airfield altitude have to do with it?
Phil509...added a fair bit of thrust but could not tell the difference ...wary on how much to put in as I want to take off at the same time as my engines!!!
Regards to all,

Cracked it, chaps,
Altered weight, fuel and thrust and, BINGO, up with tarmac to spare. Aircraft handles well so far.
Once again this forum succeeds ;D ;D ;D ;D
Cheers all,
