Ive tried many times but i just cant get it to work I set all of the dials and counters and hit the auto pilot switch but yet.........Nothing >:( My ambition in life it to be a long haul pilot but hey im 13 im not gonna do a 13 hour flight to Malyasia and back ?! so please help what am i doing wrong it just wont work the only thing it is capable of doing is wing leveler and then i still have to sit there holding the joystick making sure that the plane doesnt do a dive & crashes. (Please I need to know about Nav hold Because I am Very lazy!!) ;) thank you

As well as entering the values into things like the altimeter, you also have to press the "Alt" button on the autopilot as well as the master on switch.

Same applies for your heading, nav, APR and BC  switches.

Do you experience this problem with default aircraft?

I like to use FSNavigator in conjunction with the AP. You pick your departure airport and your destination and when you get in the air you can go into FSNavigator and click AP and Fly FP and it will take over. You can even get a pretty good approach out of it if you pick your waypoints carefully and adjust your speeds manually. Just make sure you know your destination airport and any mountains that lie in the approach path (Not gonna tell how I learned that, too embarassing).
