Panel problems

Postby terbert » Sat Apr 19, 2003 2:45 pm

Any idea's on this one. I have a third party panel ( by Paul Roberts) installed in an Easyjet 737 which operates perfectly. The problem is that when I put this panel in some other aircraft, (not all) Installation is no problem, but when you select aircraft, you can only get the panel if you have selected say, the Easyjet,  are in cockpit view, then select the change of aircraft. If you try to select after opening FS, or try when in outside view of aircraft already selected, the aircraft shows as normal, but when cockpit view is selected, up comes the error report and subsequent reload.
I wait in anticipation ??? ??? ???     Tony C

:)Could you be a little more specific as to exactly what you are talking about. Also could you state exactly what the error message states. With this information it would be a little easier to help you.

Thanks for reply John.
Problem is.....
1. Install third party panel...ok
2. Select aircraft...................ok
3. Aircraft on runway spot view......ok
4. Select cockpit view.........long wait then Microsoft box on screen announcing error with send error or don't send error report.
5.Click either and game goes to Splash screen and reloads.

This situation does not happen if you start off with an aircraft that works perfectly with the third party panel installed, choose cockpit view and THEN call up the new aircraft. The new aircraft appears in cockpit view and works perfect in all operations. The annoying thing is having to start the game in the Easyjet 737 each time and then change, AND having to remember to use cockpit view to change aircraft. Sorry if this is long winded. I am now going to start up and see what the error report says. Other option..do you have R/Wilco voice..Could communicate that way

JohnP
Error message........

Error signature
A fatal error has occurred. App name..fs2002.exe
App ver 8.0.0.10919
Mod name aimap.gau
Mod ver 1.0.0.0
Offset 00001145

The tech report is too long to put here, as it lists all the gauges, etc. but I assume it is something to do with the aimap.gau. I will have a look for it and try deleting it and see what happens. Strange that it all works ok when loaded from cockpit view, though ??? ???

:)Tony
The panel in question is it installed into each aircraft separately? Correct me if I am wrong , but this seems to happen after FS2002 is started and then you try to change planes while sill in the simulator. Th error message does indicate a gauge that is at fault. Also that error box is a standard windows XP error message that does that and whatever you click the game will shut down.
Again let me know how you put the panel into the plane(s) you are using.

Thanks John,
I have deleted the ai map and gauge info from  the panel cfg of all aircraft that would not load from exterior view............lo and behold, they all work perfectly now. It is strange that some aircraft work and some do not. Yes, the panel (from my friend, Paul Roberts) is loaded individually into each plane (unless a plane has more than one texture.) Even Paul does not yet know the reason for error. Thanks so much for your time. This problem caused grief, especially when online in Multiplayer and wanting to change planes if I did not remember to go to cockpit view first. Maybe we still do not know the cause but at least the panels all work now. Thanks again,
