???Could someone tell this ald fool how to start float planes on water with FS2002pro, because they don't seem to run too well on a runway, except those with wheels. Please bear in in mind that I have a very sandy brain!!!!!

You should be near a lump of water for starters. When you press 'Fly Now' you're in the cockpit on a runway.
Go to the map icon on the panel and click on it.
Using + on the left hand end of the menu bar zoom in on the runway to separate the plane figure from all the ground clutter. Click and hold on that airplane. You can now drag it to the nearest lump of water you have. Unclick and FS will reset in that location. Remember to select gear up before attempting to take off!
There is also a list of water runways in the FS2002 main menu. Cheers.

This question often crops up. There's 100s of water bases selectable from the Create a Flight airport location menu. Type "water" in the FS2002 Help index for a full list.

You all helped me solve that problem a while back and I thank you for it.

I have one more problem though. I have a beautiful Dornier Flying Boat that just sits in the water. Full throttle and brake released and it still doesn't move. Any ideas?

Thanks

Oso

Hi Oso. Tell me where to find this flying boat so I can check it out. Can't promise I can fix it though.  ::)

PS. For future reference I've added this tip to my FS2002 FAQ page. http://www.simviation.com/lair/fs2k2errors.htm

Thanks Hagar! And if ya can't solve it the attempt is greatly appreciated.

I have 7 or 8 flying boats total some jets - most props - they all work but this one. I believe it to be ok. The control surfaces, throttle etc work. It just will not move. When throttled up it noses down a little just like brake was still locked. Also tried gear up etc.

Second one down. Thanks again.

LOL. I was afraid of that. It's 15 Mb, not 5 as stated & will take something like 1 hour to download, even using DAP. As it's you & I happen to like floatplanes I'll try it. The Groundcrew stuff is usually first class & I would not anticipate problems. I have the previous CFS2 version which works fine.   ???

LOL Maybe I do not want to ask what you went through to discover that combination. LOL

But I sure do appreciate it. Thanks Hagar!

This same thing happened to me.  I set the the throttle to full with flaps lowered and when it didn't move, I just tapped the period key (or whatever the breaks are) once and it began to move.
