I downloaded it plus the new Siai Marchetti paint scheme of the same flight school, and I have yet to fly it.  I have been flying the Lago Tornado and the Lago Falcon.

I have noticed that great downloads come in waves.  There maybe nothing good for a while, then BAM!  All at once these great addons appear.  I might give it a go tonight.  But the C172 looks great in my hanger....

That is a nice aircraft! With sideslip it makes all of my other planes rather lacking!!

Do your self a favour. This is worth looking at.

The default Cessna 172 paint schemes work with the Real Air 172SP.  So if you don't like the Batman scheme or would just like to personalize it, you can use the default paint schemes.  I will never use the default Cessnas again!

Can I install this manually (cut & paste) or do I have to use the self installer?  I hate those things.

Just so you know, a cut & paste install doesn't seem to work.

;DI couldnt get the cut and paste to work either and used the manual installer provided.  But this is one awesome a/c to fly with the sliders set to full and the auto coord turned off.  I also put the "Flight Dynamics?" in the 182 and get the same awesome effects and those wind sounds are great.   ;D ;D ;D

So what's the difference between te default C172 and the RealAir one?

IMHO I'm less than thrilled and I'm going to dump it.

I don't fly the C172 often enough to spend the time trying to figure this out.  I spent my first 10 minutes trying to tune the radio, which never worked.  (Nothing left of the decimal would tune).

The sound is nice but unless the flight mechanics are truly awesome it's not worth the trouble.

To be fair, I use the Friendly Panels (OK but not great) alternate panel as my default (which may have caused the problem with the radio tuning).  I don't want to be forced to go back to the default panel.

Please don't flame me - it's just my opinion.

;DI love the Flight Dynamics of this one, but not the paint job (gotta change that).  I like the wind sound, the VC is great, and the change allows more realism in flying.  ie: stalls, wing drops, spinning and side slip (up to 40 degrees).  You have to set your realism to max and uncheck the auto-co-ord tho'.  I just like to get to FL5 or so and throw caution to the wind,  will I recover or not? - That is the question!!!  Never tried the radios, WebbPA, just like the aerobatics  llol ;D ;D ;D

You can't navigate without the radios. I'd like to hear more feedback. It may be my use of alternate panel.

Must admit I haven't tried radio or nav but I couldn't go back to the default. I tried. I did many hours without radio and doing my own nav so how the thing flies is really more important to me and this flies great :)

OK I loaded it the trusting lazy mans way with default panel etc. Everything works so far. Most of my short flying 'career' was in a 172 so I'm really at home with this thing and only fly it to the local store in VC. Look and land! Navigation is for longhaul stuff and then I use something else. Regardless of all that, the thing, once again, flies nice and I especially like the sound effects. Yes,it really does sound like the wheels are going to fall off! Try landing on dirt!!  There is a video available at FSfreeware of a 172 final and landing ,check that out for sound etc :)

OK, I'll stick my neck out .......

I loaded it up and flew it, no problems, however for the first time in hundreds of downloads, going back before FS98, the only sound I got was the wind going passed.     I spent some time in the Read.Me txt dept (when all else fails) but still wasn't able to get the sound of the engine.

I parked it, expecting to see an update posted but nothing except rave reviews.

Please tell me that there are no engine noises or I'll have to go back to square one.

PS,   I'm a Cessna and small plane lover, and have a hangar full of them.
