AI Traffic

I've never flown FS2002 in multiplayer mode, but got invited to a session, and I have a question....
Does the AI traffic continue to fly, while in Multiplayer?

That is awesome. My son flies with a group that does fighter sqdrn flying, sometimes carrier opns.
I flew recently with another son out of state, what a way to communicate.

I use to belong to a couple of VAs when I was using FS2KPro, but since changing to FS2K2Std, I haven't flown online at all.
