Thanks once again for all the good info. I am sure that this question has been raised before, but I didn't have time to go back too far, I have noticed that in adding new aircraft some are textures, some are full packages. Obviously for those aircraft that are not defaults in FS02 I have added, but for those that are included is there any advantage to adding the full aircraft, does that bog down your system if all I am looking for is the various airline livery addition to the sim experience? So veteran advice would be greatly appreciated!

Hi.
i don't see it necessary to install a full aircraft that's default. i think that the default aircrafts r pretty good.

What ever default aircraft you have it is best to leave them in your aircraft folder. You can add more textures to them, just like you can add more textures to addon aircraft that have the same mapping. Adding textures is better than adding another entire aircraft from a hard drive usage point of view. Remember the more aircraft you add, and this includes ones that are just more liveries, it will take longer for FS2002 to start up. When you go to select an aircraft you will notice a bit of a lag because it has to load all of the possibilities up. Atleast this is how it appears to me. If you have just the default aircraft everything boots up real quick. But the more you add the longer it will take. Granted it isn't an extreme amount, but you will notice it. Best thing, use textures whenever you can, and avoid duplicating aircraft folders.

Thanks, I guess I am trying to put together the most realistic environment without unnecessarily using up tonsof hd space and slowing the system down. I would be interested in knowing what suggestions anyone would have on a good well rounded 'realistic' major airport fleet. i.e., # of different models or types. Also, for instance if I am going to add an aircraft like say a B767, what would be a good base model to use and then add textures to? Any others like say a B727, airbus etc. Thanks.
