Paint Kit ( What is it)

Postby Tomcat61 » Sat Mar 15, 2003 6:38 am

Hi all, might be a silly question, but what is a paint kit in downloads, and what do you do with it ?

Thanks again.....Tomcat61

Paint kits are a relatively recent development in Simming - and very useful they are too!

They're specific to a particular downloaded aircraft and are used if you want to give it your own paintjob.

The advantage of using a paint kit is that although they're "blanks" of the textures, they usually include lots of fiddly things like the rivets (ever hand painted 6,000 rivets?) and also generally include the alpha layer. That's the layer that has the reflective qualities in it.

Hi Tomcat..... ;D...!
...do you mean re-paint...?
A download of a plane, etc, where the original has been re-painted by an enthusiast of that particular model, and uploaded to the Site... ;D

Cheers...
