Postby Tomcat61 » Thu Mar 13, 2003 11:10 pm

Hi all, I just downloaded Active Camera Pro, and after unzipping it, I have 2 files, one is the Dll File which I know goes to the Moduals Folder, however in the readme, it says make sure you put the Actice Camera Pro.CFG into the Root Directory, .... Which is this one,???

Thanks again for any help, much appreciatted.

Did you find the modules directory?  Move up one level and that's your root directory.

It's not called "root".  It's called "fs2002".  I have a nonstandard installation but I think the standard install is something like c:/program files/microsoft games/fs2002.

If you have found the modules folder, then you are close!  ;D

The modules folder is actually in the FS2002 root directory.

Starting from C: your HDD, the folders go like this:

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\FS2002, where "FS2002" is the root directory.

Hope that helps!

Thanks Ric - maybe we should explain the concept of "root".  A root directory is the general starting directory for something.  If you're talking about your basic hard drive the root directory is generally C:/.

If you're talking about a program, it's wherever you installed it.   Probably C:/Program Files/DirectoryName.

FS does another wierd one and assumes you are going to have several MS games installed so it creates a directory called C:/Program Files/Microsoft Games/ ... then (unless you tell it otherwise) puts FS into a subdirectory of that one called C:/Program Files/Microsoft Games/FS2002.  THAT is your root with the standard install.

I told the MS installer to sod off so MY root directory is C:/Games/FS2002.

Got it?  Or do I have get my droogs to show you?

I just plunked that root directory file into FS2002, where ALL of the files sit. From Local Disk C, go to Program Files, then Microsoft Games, the FS2002. In FS2002 is where the file should be placed.

When the author said your "Root Directory", he simply meant your main FS2002 folder.
Open your FS2002 folder and paste the file at the bottom.
