The great blue wall
Posted: Thu Mar 13, 2003 4:38 amWhen i put the visibilety to under unlimited, its like there`s a big blue wall around the plane. Does anyone know how to make it more smooth and "foggy" like?

Posted: Thu Mar 13, 2003 1:57 pmDoesn't everyone have that prob? Its because FS2002 (like previous versions) doesn't render clouds all the way into the distance, so you see blue sky at the horizon. Theres really not a lot you can do about it, except not have any clouds or have the visibility on the next highest setting.

Posted: Thu Mar 13, 2003 2:43 pmIn Weather > Advanced Weather > select various cloud types and set different levels for each type by using the + and - icons and drag the boxes to size using the mouse to increase coverage.
If you drag a box nearer to ground level the clouds will be lower.
Note that setting "Deviation" towards zero results in more, (denser), clouds.
Its fun to experiment with the "Advanced Weather" settings in FS 2002...
....!
Cirrus = High level clouds.
Cumulus = Medium level clouds.
Stratus = Low level clouds.
Thunderstorm = Forget flying....LOL...!
Note that under average flying conditions , visibility will be between 20 - 30 miles, generally less, rarely more!
