Meigs Mystery

Hi,
Just wondering if any of you have this problem -- a few seconds after taking off from Meigs (in any aircraft), the screen freezes for about 10 seconds, then goes back to normal. This doesn't happen anywhere else, just at the same point after each take-off at Meigs.
Thanks.

I used to get a pause 2/3 of the way down the runway, but it only lasted for about half a second.
It went when I upgraded my processor but the point is that there is something that causes FS2002 to have to "think" around there.
Has this only just started happening btw?
System specs would also help please.

Dell 8200
200 Gb
P4 2Ghz
768 Mb of RAM
GeForce 4 Ti4600 card.
It does appear that the program is thinking, then releases with no ill effects. I'm not sure when it started happening. I have only recently been taking off from Meigs. One thing I've noticed, though, is that audio (ATC and engine) continues while the picture is static.

Well your system specs far outweigh mine so I don't think the problem lies there.
I'd be interested to know what soundcard you're using and when you last updated the driver for it.
FS2002 has a history of some awful side effects of not interfacing properly with the sound. The fact that your ATC is still plodding on while the graphics have frozen points either at that, or possibly a problem in your graphics card driver. 10 seconds is a long time for a hang though, with or without any ill-effects.

Thanks for the response. I'll try updating the drivers and see what happens. I'm just happy my joystick and yoke are working fine. I had quite a few problems with the MS stick not being recognized off and on. So waiting a few seconds above Chicago ain't that bad. ;D
