Newbie unable to configure CH USB Yoke/Pedals

Having just successfully installed CH Flight Sim Yoke USB and Pro Pedals USB for MS Flight Simulator 2002 I am now at a total loss as to how to configure the buttons for the various functions and above all how to save the settings.
MS has instructions for keyboard and joystick - none of which apply to the Yoke or Pedals.
I have been to CH's KB which is more than useless. And yet, everybody else seems to be able to deal with that issue quite happily. Yeah, I know, I am rather dim.  
Any advice would be gratefully received.
