Hi all, when I cancel IFR, ATC gives me a message about setting a Squak Code ??, What does this mean, what does it do, and how do I set it ?

Thanks again....Tomcat61

The Squawk code is the code entered into your transponder radio.

It's used by ATC to identify you on their radar.

The squawk code they'll be giving you is 1200 which is a standard VFR code unless you're under flight following, in which case ATC will issue a new code.

You can either set it by just acknowledging the ATC message (does it automatically) or enter it manually into your transponder radio in your stack.

Note that when you manually changed the trasnponder code the ATC menu will change for flight following or for IFR flights or ATC might "radar contact" you

N700MS radar contact 5 miles of X66 at 5,500

Or something like that, lol.
