DC-3 Iberia Airways

Has anybody experienced/solved problems with this aircraft under Windows XP? It worked perfectly under Win 98, but under XP(SP1) is flies for about 15 minutes and then FS2002 shuts down and restarts.

I've pinned this down to the panel (by using the panel with other craft and flying this one with a different panel) but the existing panel is so clean, clear and easy to use it seems a shame to discard it. I suspect an errant guage - easy to eliminate or replace.

I have been in correspondence with the author, but he has not identified a solution.

Any suggestions appreciated.

John H

(This does not relate to the CollinsRadio error message for which I do have a fix from the author)

Try commenting out part of the gauges in the panel.cfg  and see if the problem still exits. If it still exists try commenting out some more gauges. Do this untill you pinpoint the exact gauge

Thanks Andrew,

I had partly done as you say, but it is such a time-consuming procedure I thought I'd see if anybody else had already confronted the problem.

A chance observation today led me to a Microsoft Knowledge Base Document suggesting my DirectX drivers might need updating. It never occurred to me that a two-week-old computer would need a drastic update, but there was a new version number available.

I've downloaded and installed this, and have left the DC-3 flying into the distance. At present it has been running for an hour and twenty minutes without problem, so I am hopeful that this has cured the problem.

I include this here should anybody else have similar problems).

I have several Dakota panels, some good, some bad. This happens to be one of the good ones! It seemed a shame to give up on it - anyway, I can confirm that it has run for over two hours since I upgraded DirectX so that was definitely the source of the problem.

Thanks anyway.
