Which CD has the Baron B58 on it?

Out of sheer desperation to use the default Beechcraft Baron for my RWT flight, I am going to buy FS2002 Pro.
Do I have to uninstall my current FS2002 or can I just copy the aircraft off of one of the install disks???

If so which disk has the BeechCraft Beauty on it?

This may sound retarded to some of you (except maybe Tipster...) that I am buying the whole game just for one airplane but I have looked for over a month trying to find a good plane to do my adventure in and that is the plane I want...

So if anyone knows which CD its on, I would love to know so that I can try just adding it without having to reinstall ALL of my addons...

Thanks!!!

Cherokee here's my advice:

Don't buy Pro just for that aircraft - it's a massive investment if that's all you want - particularly with FS9 just around the corner.

I can recommend a GREAT freeware Piper PA23 Aztec that ships with a fantastic custom panel that will do the job just as well:

Aztec.zip (flightsim.com has it if you can't find it here).

You'll also need:

Aztec update.zip

and an amendment to the aircraft.cfg which I have. If you decide to get it, let me know and I'll paste it for you.

It's a very similar aircraft to the Baron and I'm sure you'd enjoy it.

As an alternative, I really like Chuck Dome's Duke B60 which outperforms the Baron. If you look at page 2, I just finished doing a panel for it and he's confirmed he's doing an FSDS2 version shortly.

If you really can't live without the Baron, then FS2002 Pro it is. You can either extract the aircraft from the .cab file (Disk 1 I think) and just add the gauges and aircraft in, or uninstall Standard (which will leave your add-ons behind in the FS2002 folder) and install Pro afresh. That gives you the other aircraft too.

ya! you really should look into other aircraft to fly with that have similar caricteristics. another opption might be to hold off on that adventure you could wait for the next fs to come out (i think it is in june but im not sure) and just buy the pro then and fly it then. but really the final discition is your choice.

Thanks!

I searched Flightsim and did not find aztec.zip, but I did find Aztec2k2.zip. Would that be the same one?

I will give that a try and see...I does look good though!!

Can you post that change to the aircraft.cfg?

Thanks very much!!

Yeah that's probably it Cherokee - sorry. I forgot - the CD-RW I had it on corrupted and I had to recover the files (losing the file names i the process) so I just named it Aztec.

It's by Fred Choate - and as far as I know it's the only aztec he's done so if his name is in the readme - that's the one.

The aircraft.cfg update you need is as follows:

[contact_points]
//0  Class
//1  Longitudinal Position   (feet)
//2  Lateral Position   (feet)
//3  Vertical Position  (feet)
//4  Impact Damage Threshold (Feet Per Minute)

//6  Wheel Radius      (feet)
//7  Steer Angle     (degrees)
//8  Static Compression      (feet)  (0 if rigid)
//9  Max/Static Compression Ratio
//10 Damping Ratio     (0=Undamped, 1=Critically Damped)
//11 Extension Time    (seconds)
//12 Retraction Time   (seconds)

Put that in overwriting the original section after installing the update I mentioned.

Hope you enjoy it. :)

Just realised - that update will have a different file name too. Search for Fred Choate if it's not referred to in the first download - that should turn it up.
