How about racing planes from the time ('30s).

Absolutely.  I think any racing or vintage fighter would be great.

As for the list, it just keeps getting bigger and bigger.  Right after I post this I will make a notepad list and continue adding to it, then we can pick the best out of the lot when we are ready.  So keep the ideas coming!

BTW, who actually wants to fly this?  I need to start a list for that, too.

As soon as someone posts an official list of stops, rules, and other nonsensical issues, I'm in.  lol
Great edit, Bob.

I've just been looking at a web page about air racing.  It seems that the P38 Lightning was a popular choice.....

Well, if I could pick any single engine prop I wanted, I'd do it in my P-51D Mustang....

Not sure what the requirements are yet though.  lol

Looks like Hyperion is revved up and ready to ride!  Anyone else want to jump in?  I think it will have to be another week before I have all of the logistics worked out, so there is some time to prepare.

Hyperion, start doing your exercises! ;D

Oh, right.  I should've known. :P

Anyway, how many cities should we visit?  I have the list up to something like 20 and I don't think they're all going in.  Give me a number.

Depends how long you want this thing to go on for.  lol

I'm still confused as to how we record everything.  If you end your flight, the flight analysis ends as well, no?

Yes, that's why I suggested the GPS, but I thought about it, and if we take shots of both (GPS and flight analysis) after each leg, we should be able to get a fair reading.

Fly from DFW to LAX, take two screenies and shutdown FS, post them at SimV on a specific thread.  Fly from LAX to Seattle, take two screenies and shutdown FS, post them at SimV.  I think that would work, don't you?

its definatly a difficult thing to do, as if you wanted it to all go in one go it would take you along time obviously. what i am doing with my trip is only stopping at big airports and also when i need fuel, at every large airport i save the game, and just keep resaving it to the same file, that way it keeps all the data saved in the GPS to show your flight route, and also it should in the end flight data at the end. although i am not sure about that last bit as obviously i havent ended my flight yet.

I still find myself wondering if one decent sized online race might be easiest.  lol
