I think we've all thought at one time "Man, if only I could build my own cockpit, then I'd have everything..."

It's a nice fantasy to have, but personally, I don't think I could justify it.  In doing some research for the idea (because I really wanted to do it), I found out that those things cost tens and tens of thousands of dollars.

Why?

If you're able to scrape that kind of money together, just put it in a dish and use it for real world flight instruction?

Sure, those are expensive too.  And I'm not saying that everyone should do that.  But if you've only got the money to do one of the two, why fool around with a pretend airplane, IMHO...
Great edit, Bob.

Well could go to that airplane graveyard in the US or where ever you live, and get them to cut the cockpit off the front of an old plane and drag it home to ur garage and set it up....most of the work is done for you as well  and mite be cheaper      ??? ::)

It's been done.  I can't remember the link for the page right now, but the pics are amazing.  lol  (And no, I don't  believe it was cheaper...the pit itself cost the dude like ten grand...)

With a thought to cost ,I know that if I had that amount of money to throw at a pretend cockpit I wouldn't be here talking to you guys ;D
White on White fly all night.

Red on White you're alright.

Red on Red you'll soon be dead.

If I had the money for a cockpit I'd spend it on getting a PPL.  If you do build one Page, make sure you post some pictures, the one of your rudder set up doesn't seem to work.

It's not the instructions that don't work, they seem fine.  It's the picture that you tried to post.

Sorry Ozzy i misunderstood you  :-[......Is Geocities i think playing around   ... the only way i could get it was by putting the url in my browser  ie cutting and pasteing it >:(.....  http://www.geocities.com/pk17tl/peds.JPG  see if this works      8)   just tried it clicking on url in this post but only gets as far as geocities site and no further is as if Simviation does not want to talk to geocites or the other way around :(....perhaps someone in the forum knows the reason for this  ;D  8)
