I think we should start a poll on suitable punishments for the eleven year old in question.

I recommend Hanging, Drawing and Quartering as decently slow.

Good to see you back Tipster. ;)
Shame about all those lost replies though. I relied on them for sorting out all those problems I can't answer myself. Still it could be worse I suppose.  ::)

I can only apologise again. :(

I should have mentioned earlier that my I.M. and e-mail messages have been wiped out. If anyone has received any abusive, unusual or otherwise unpleasant messages in the last 24 hours or so, I'm very sorry and please ignore them.

You're back! yay!  The Forums just increased in overall intelligence ten fold!  :D

You gotta share with us what you did to your son.  Heaven forbid, the same thing were to happen with our young sons (in the future) or daughters, we would at least know what to do  ;)

Hi Guys!

Suffice it to say that the problem arose from a combination of me being out most of last night, no password on my P.C. and an errant 11 year old son.

Solution: Get the kid a computer of his own. That way in a couple years he'll be the one fixing yours when it breaks down.  ;D

Failing that how about just a hard drive. Get a removable drive bay and another HD. Load an OS with all his games and such on it and when he wants to use the computer insert his drive. That way if he messes something up it only affects his drive. Yours is unchanged.

Let's just say that both me and my son have learned valuable lessons from this. It won't happen again, that's for sure.

Sorry to hear you're on a full re-install. My situation isn't quite that drastic, but there were a couple of major casualties. My e-mail was one, several FS2002 add-ons that I can't even remember the details of now ::), and sadly, the B-52 panel.

It wasn't near completion so I suppose I can be thankful for that, but the worst part of it is losing the main bitmap. It took me absolutely hours and was a complete re-vamp from the original I did following receipt of some photos. Out with the Paintshop Pro again... :(

Can't you do a recovery of some sort. I think there are programs aout there to help with that.

I am sad to hear about the panel work being lost, i really am, just hope you can get it back together.

As to the firewall and stuff do you have one you bought? Frankly i don't find free online firewalls real protection. Mine--and i am not afraid to say so--is McAfee VirusScan which came with the firewall. I've found it very reliable, but what does that matter? :-X

Glad to have you back John ;D :D :) 8)
