1. The installer's most recent version is 1.19d, so you have the most recent version. The old installer files are just .exe files, which are self-installers.

2. Not many PAI files will overwrite AFCAD files (I'm yet to see one, I think, and I have quite a few of the PAI set!), and anyway, you can uncheck that option if there are any AFCAD files needing installed.

Tipster....that is right. When you download the the file...unzip it, and you will see an .exe file. Double click on it and it will run the installer all by itself. It will do the full compile and decompile for you.
That's it.
Give it a shot!

That sounds like a definate possibility as you would be erasing any existance of all general aviation. I don't think Project AI could have covered ALL airports.  Try going for the United Airlines package then go to ORD...Pretty nice!

Thanks again Eric. I'll live with having "Orbit" airways knocking around then...LOL.

Just ONE last question, then that's it - I promise.

Whilst scanning down the PAI list of available stuff, I came across Air Holland va. Now maybe I just never heard of them, but aren't they a Virtaul airline rather than a real one?

If so, are there any other VAs up there? It seems odd in a project that's supposed to add realism to have fictional airlines, unless I've got it all wrong of course...

After a touch of research, I found out the Air Holland is an actual airline...so I am not too sure about the Virtual Airline aspect of things.

Hmmmmm.....thing is, that's Air Holland va up there in PAI - and there is a VA going under that name.

Makes you wonder whether the aircraft are going to have "va" in their logos and whether or not the flight schedules will match the real airline or the VAs own manufactured version (if any).

LOL - thanks.

This PAI thing has set me off on a right chase now!

I've been to several sites including this one: http://airtravel.about.com/ in the quest for identifying whether the airlines at PAI that I'm not sure about, are real or not.

Air Holland doesn't actually appear on that one btw (in either incarnation) - so the list isn't definitive. It just means if the airline is there, I know it's good to go.

Found this site:

http://www.aerotransport.org/

Operator Index link on the left of the home page gives every airline operator since 1930 :o

The ONLY one I haven't been able to authenticate is Air Holland va.

I'm now convinced that this entry refers to the Virtual Airline of `Air Holland VA` rather than Air Holland itself (which has no subsidiary by that name).

Whether it makes any difference is another question. Only someone who has it installed and is familiar with the flight schedules can say I think.

Wow!! I didn't get chance to get online last night...this thread has gone mad!!! hehe

With regard to the Air Holland virtual airline if you go to this link:

http://linksmanager.com/vatsimvas/links5.html

Air Holland VA is listed there and it looks like it is indeed a virtual airline.  Maybe ProjectAI are starting to add virtual airlines as well as real ones now?

Also, what may be of interest.... I'm sure I read somewhere on the projectai boards that there might not be quite so many new autoinstallers coming out anymore... think they are wanting to put the emphasis on manual installs of repaints etc so people have a better understanding of how AI and FS2002 work - Could be wrong but get downloading those packages now just in case!!!  :)

Btw... FS2002 tipster.... its really great to see you still here, have read quite a few of your posts which are always useful and i LOVE your round the world jaunt,  especially as you are from my neck of the woods!!! Screenshots are really great and your logs are always entertaining!!! keep up the great work mate! Whoever it was who paid your phone bill is a star  :D

Just to clarify a couple of things for you guys.
We're not sure how Air Holland VA got an installer. Some say it's a real airline, others say it's not.
Since we've done all the work, we've decided to let it stay.   ;D
ProjectAI has no immediate plans to start hosting and/or packaging VA files.  Up to this time, we've tried to keep it real.
ProjectAI is NOT..I repeat NOT going to go to manual installation.  We will still be producing the .pai files that are used by the install program.  After all, one of the reasons ProjectAI started was to provide automated installation of all the files.
If you've got any questions, just let me know.
