You can go to the zone (someone else here will know the URL, I don't know it because I hate it lol), you can host a game on your computer (an IP game), or you can go to VATSIM.net, and fly with live ATC...best choice!
Great edit, Bob.

Just go down to the multiplayer forum near the bottom of the main forums page and have a look and see what is happening. Normally there are people either advertising events, or looking for online partners.
Failing that you can organise your own, its easy, if you want more info on how to let me know.

Another option, and this is pure shameless plug on my part, is to join a virtual airline.   ;)

This is actually the same Flight Board as the link on the SimV main page: www.tradeip.com .

Very easy!  ;)

You can put a Shortcut on your desktop to go directly there.

Have Fun!  ;D

Thanks all for postings ,but am getting frustrated over this.Have been to vatsim site, seen who's on line, entered the ip address of a few who are indicated on line but no connection occurs. What does TPC/IP mean?
I am in the UK on broadband, ie cable! Have disconnected firewall [Norton] but to no avail!!!!. What am I doing wrong?

Anniesboy....

In order to connect to the VATSIM network, you've got to download (freebie of course) a program called "SquawkBox".  SB will allow you to connect to the servers and join the action.

Also, if you want to REALLY take it to the next level, and you've got a microphone, download (also a freebie) Roger Wilco, a voice client that will let you and your controllers communicate via voice...very, very cool!

Also, there's a GREAT step-by-step tutorial on the VATSIM site (also where the downloads are) that will get you started.  It can seem a bit daunting at first, but once you figure it out, you'll think "Oooh, that was easy."

All of the software and the tutorial are available at http://www.vatsim.net

Good luck!

No apologies necessary.  We were all new once.  I'm hardly an expert on much myself.  lol

To get your VATSIM registration number, on the VATSIM site somewhere is a "register" or "Join VATSIM" link....I can't remember exactly what it says.

You can sign up there.

Also, write the registration number and password down somewhere...they're usually like 6 or 7 digit numbers, and very easy to forget!  haha
