Best of luck with it. :)

Make sure you've downloaded add-on scenery for StoneHenge - Microsoft left it out.  Not only that, but they left a hole in the scenery where it should be meaning if you fly anywhere near it, you'll get a string of errors.

You're going to need a hefty prop to get across the Pacific from Australia to S.America. It's about 5,000nm. If you stop at Hawaii, that cuts it down to 2 legs of about 2,500nm, but it's still a fair distance.

You could fly using the B-17. It's got good range.

Best of Luck ;)

Sorry - got myself confused. I was talking Australia to N.America there. Humble apologies.

I've no idea what distance it is from Australia to South America but I'd think it's still going to be a big hop. You'll need something bigger than the Baron I use I think.

It's a large hop, but it's got islands all over the place.

If you go out through Tahiti there is a Chilean island east of there that will gety you in range of the Galapogas islands and so to Colombia.
In a turboprop that would be the best way I think but check your mileage as I've only done it in a small jet myself.

Went and had a look and you continue East to Chile easier than what I said earlier. I did that long hop to Galapagas to save going all the way down South America.  A King Air should eat that, even a Baron! Well, maybe the right Baron!!

But not all those islands may have airfields on them, or at least not fs2002 airfields.  ;)

he,heh, use a N-22. it's a small aircraft for bush flying and it has a maximum range of,let's say, 400nm. i flew from montreal, canada to anchorage, alaska with it and i had to refuel about 5 times...;D

All this talk about "range" got me thinking,, and what better way to use up thought energy than FS2002  ;)

The Baron is listed as having a max range of about 1,500 nm. I just took a Baron up for testing and found the best distance/fuel consumption:

At 12,000 msl with props and mixture "optimized", I got roughly 24 g/hr with a ground speed of 180 kts. OK,, with 142 gallons of TOTAL fuel available,,,you do the math >?  Alright,,  roughly thats 1,100 nm.

I know the default aircraft.cfg file puts 4   170 lb passengers in there and I'm sure the range is based on just a pilot, but that still doesn't account for the huge ammount of fuel you'd burn climbing out to 12,000  ??? Not quite sure how you'd squeeze 1,500 nm out of it.

Anyway,,  unless you plan to cross the ponds up north (Alaska and Greenland/Iceland), a Baron is not a "Globe-trotter".....  UNLESS..... You remove the passenger load-stations and replace them with a big, 100 gallon center tank (600 lbs)  ;D   That put's you close to 1,900 nm  in range...

Surely Tipster knows a way around the planet with no legs (other than north) longer than 1,900 nm ?
