Need Help

Postby reggie » Sat Jul 08, 2006 12:25 pm

Due to problems, I've re-installed fs2002. I've now got to start from scratch re. all my add-ons, but for now, the main problem is this. I know that normally, the aircraft pulls to the right, when accelerating down the runway, but I did mamage b/4 to prevent this, but have forgotten how. Also it doesn't seem to climb like before & the joystick is very sensitive.I have calibrated the stick. Can someone please point me in the right direction, as I was really enjoying my flying experiences, but now it's bugging me. Thanks.
I'll be needing more advice I think on the add-on's I've lost, but the important thing for now, is getting the set up right.

Im not entirely sure how you countered the prop-wash effect of the aircraft pulling to the right, as there are many ways. Most people just decide to use the rudder (Z-axis) on their rudder to do this, some also change the rudder trim. I think there is somewhere in the Realism settings that stops this. Im not infront of my sim right no so cant tell you exactly, but (not sure if this is the right one) it may be gyro-drift, or something.

To combat your joystick problem go to Settings -> Sensitivities and have a fiddle with the sliders, not sure exatly what axis your having the problem on but you will see it in there.

Hope that helped.
Cheers,   ;D

Also... what problems are you having with your addons?

Thanks for that Alex. I have tried fiddling with the settings, but it doesn't seem to alter the problem, but I'll have another go. I'm fairly new to all this. With regard to the add-ons, it's quite possible that something I added on, may have caused some of the default airports to disappear, hence me re-installing fs. What I need to do now, is re- download all the add-ons for scenery improvement & aircraft etc. Just a case of finding them all again ::)

OPTIONS,SETTINGS,CONTROLS, AND SELECT "RESET DEFAULTS" AND YOU WILL BE SURE THAT THE SETTINGS ARE FLYABLE. mOST COMMON REASON FOR ac LURCHING TO ONE SIDE AND BEING ALMOST UNCONTROLLABLE ON TAKEOFF IS THAT THE autopilot IS ON!!
ALSO ADVANCE THE THROTTLE SLOWLY TO COUNTERACT TORQUE.
