my friends multiplayer

Postby pilotguy191 » Sat Jan 07, 2006 12:31 pm

before u change this to the multiplayer forum read this because i think it might be something wrong with the flight simulator. I let my friend install the game onto his computer to fly multiplayer with me so right after he downloaded it he called me and we went to fly multiplayer i told him which IP adress mine was because i set up a session but it didn't work. So then i told him to download the fshost spy but it still didn't work then he thought maybe he needed to get msn gaming because of the box by the multiplayer it says msn gaming zone so he got that and it stll didn't work...anymore suggestions? thanks

Do either of you have a fire wall installed? If so turn it off.
If either of you use a router to connect to the internet with the one with the router might not be able to host the multiplayer event. You will need to consult you router user guide you will more than likely have to open ports to do this with.
I use a wired router and can not host multiplayer events I can join one but not start one as the other players will not be able to join because of the built in firewall in the router  8)

Did you let your friend install your own version of FS2002?

If so, it doesn't work, becasue that's illegal. Your friend must buy his own copy of the game. You can't play on-line with 2 of the same versions of the game.

Pilotguy,

Pigeon is right on target there.......... your purchase of software typically does not allow you to install it on multiple machines simultaneously unless you have some sort of network or site license.

If you real the EULA included with the software...it will state that this is illegal.
