Disappearing paint jobs

Some paint jobs are dropping off my FS2002 Professional.

The Cessna 182rg is fine but the 172 is not coloured in. The Mooney and Lear Jets are fine but the Boeings aren't.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled the application, even unloaded paint and reloaded.

When I try to view the missing textures files they are blank in Paint, Adobe won't open them (a parsing error is reported) and paintshop 7 opens them with black lines across the colours.

Any suggestions will be gratefully received

The default aircraft textures are in an extended BMP format which can't be opened in a conventional graphics editor. Try opening them in DXTBmp. http://www.mnwright.btinternet.co.uk/programs/dxtbmp.htm

If you reinstalled FS2002 I can't think why the default variations of any default aircraft should be missing.
