Perfect landing

Hi all,

It is really difficult for a beginner to land a jet perfectly. Is there any button to be pressed when the airplane is in the runway's course (the green shaped like-arrow behind the runway in the GPS map) ? This might make landing really easy!!!!!!!!!!

I don't know much about auto-landings, I land manually all the time, haven't had the time to research real-world landing techniques.  It does take practice, but you'll eventually get the hang of it, and I would advise learning manual landing regardless.  Look in 'Help & Tutorials' on the Simviation home page, there might be something there.  I don't think there's 'one' button that will guide you in, there's got to be more to it than that.

you type the NAV1 frequingcy of the runway you want to landon(found in map, just click on the green arrow thing)
Then turn ur autopilot on and the APP or APR on
then line up manually with the runway about 2000feet above the runway. The autopilot will approach the runway for you and decend for you. It will not flare though. To make it flare go to avsim , and type autoland in search, make sure you get autoland 204 though.
PMDG 737 has auto land but its payware.

There is no autoland in FS02 but some panels claim to be able to emulate one.

Here's how I learned to land jets:

Set your NAV1 radio to the ILS frquency and course hold before takeoff.  Take off and turn 180 degrees and fly about 30 miles (5000 feet should be fine).  Turn another 180 degrees and you should be ready to hit APR HOLD, extend your flaps and gear, and slow to landing speed.  I recommend the Learjet because it has a low stall speed.

Now that you're all lined up and ready for final - SAVE YOUR FLIGHT.  Now you won't have to go through all that other stuff again and you can just practice landings.

To make landing easier turn on EFIS (hit the ALT button on your keyboard - it's in the menu somewhere) and you will see a highway in the sky.  To make it even easier, turn the sim rate to 1/2.  Practice a few times.
