adding fuel tanks

i was wonering how to add an extra tank i have tried editing the .air & .cfg files but it does not work

Hmm, should work through the .cfg, I've done it before (in fs9, not 2k2).  Make sure you're putting in the right info-try starting by copying and pasting another aircrafts fuel tank info the .cfg, see if that helps-and remember to back it up.

Add extra tanks to the [fuel] section of the aircraft.cfg.
This will add the additional fuel capacity to the a/c.

This will only effect the flight characteristics (longer range, more weight, CoG). It will not change the appearance of the a/c (an external tank) as this must be created in the visual model.

At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.
