MelJet 777-xxx Lighting effects

Postby Hai Perso Coyone? » Sat Nov 13, 2004 9:29 am

hi all,
i have a whole bunch of meljets in my hangar but i have a slight discomfort when flyng them at nite. the night effects for Meljets are very weird and the are not like the lighting effects for fs2002 and 2004 but more like fs2000 with slow strobes and a little off color nav lites. the strobe light on the back however blinks like FS2k2 and 2k4 style. any way to change the lighting effects to make them more realistic?

Any help would be very appreciated.

You could go into the aircraft.cfg file and find the lines in the [lights] section that control the lighing effects you are talking about. Make a copy of the line and paste it directly below the line you've selected, but put a semicolon (;) at the start of the line to make FS ignore it. Then on the original line, change the effects filename to one that you know gives you the effect that you want (perhaps from another .cfg file).

That should do it. Don't forget to back up the original file first.

He means go into another aircraft cfg, one with a more realistic set of lights, and copy and paste the lines into your Meljet 777 auircraft cfg file..

Yup, that's pretty much it. Except don't forget to keep the original coordinate locations in the [lights] section if you don't want the effects floating in space ...
