Third Party Error

Postby ivormills » Tue Oct 26, 2004 5:06 am

Hi,

I have a 'Third Party Error' problem. I know this is common so I have checked all the fixes and tried 'oldmodules'etc in the config but this has me in a fix. My third pary error does not give me the option to carry on 'yes/no' , after the error message 2002 just does not start.

Error message:
Microsoft Flight Simulator 2002 was unable to load some third party software. You can can continue using Flight Simulator (in fact you can't!) but your 3rd party software will be disabled.

File:modules\fsres.dll

This happened after I installed a new plane and a seperate panel.

I am using win 98 & FS2002pro

Any Help much appreciated

Hi Ivor. I haven't come across this particular error. If you tell me exactly where to download the problem panel I can check it out myself.

Hi Hagar,

Many thanks for your reply.

I downloaded an aircraft and a panel and installed, that is when the problem cropped up.
Both were downloaded from flightsim.com

Aircraft file: '145ba2k2.zip' a British Airways Embraer 145.
Panel file: 'em145az.zip' Embraer 145 panel.

Many thanks for your help

Hi Ivor. I assumed you downloaded the files from SimV. I'll have a punt round & see what I can find.

I'm always happy to help if I can but a page number or a link to the page where the files are posted would be a great help & save me a lot of time. ;)

Hi Hagar,

Yes I am sorry the downloads were from flightsim, but I use Simviation as well and I find the Forum much friendlier here.........creep.........creep.....honest!

Anyway if you can still help great, but if you cant I will understand, and if you do I will never go to Flightsim again!.......Lol

Once logged in to Flightsim the URLs ar as follows:

Aircraft: http://www.flightsim.com/cgi/kdl/main/5 ... p?wFPRN01c

Panel: http://www.flightsim.com/cgi/kdl/main/5 ... p?wFPRN01c

Many thanks

OK. I found the files & checked them out. First I installed the aircraft. No problem there - I didn't expect one as the panel & sound are aliased to default aircraft.

Now for the panel. This is a tad complicated but it's easy enough to install providing you follow the instructions carefully. (Please take my tip & don't extract zipfiles direct to FS2002.) All works fine for me. I'm more used to bush planes myself but this is a very nice package. IMHO

No DLL files are included with the panel or mentioned in the Readme. I already have 3 modules installed with the appropriate FS2002.cfg [OLDMODULES] entries. These are FSSound.dll, GaugeSound.dll & SOARRec.dll. I don't know if one or more of these would explain your problem as the panel features extra sounds. (Please note that my GaugeSound.dll is installed to the FS2002 root directory & not the usual FS2002\Modules folder. I assume this is something I discovered when I investigated a previous problem.)

Not sure any of this helps but I did my best. ;)

You're welcome Ivor. The point is, was I any help or did you fix it yourself?
