Flight Bugs???

Postby f-16 » Mon Jul 05, 2004 12:58 pm

I recently flew a meljet 777 for the first time in FS2002 from KJFK to KLAX. As I was flying, the gear lowered by itself. So I raised it, thinking it was nothing. But this happened TEN times during the flight. I also noticed this happening with the default planes in FS2002. A new downloaded 737-900 does the same thing on it's first flight. The gear lowers by itslef a number of times during the flight.

Then the problem fixes itself by the third time I fly the aircraft. It's weird. I usualy have to fly a new plane on two test flights before this problem subsides and the plane flies normaly.

Has anyone experienced this happening in FS 2002 on any aircraft? Any idea what could cause this?

Have you spilled anything on your keyboard lately?
could be as simple as a sticky key.

or

Have you changed any of the keyboard/ joystick settings and allocated a key that you have been hitting regularly before .... to the gear?

check these before going into any of the more complex remedys that you are likely to get  ;)

cheers

Nope. Have not done any of that. The problem fixes itself after the third flight with the aircraft. Usualy the next day or so.

One option is that it might be the keyboard. The one I am using is getting kinda old. (more than 5 years) I also noticed that the F2 key for the reverse thrust does not work properly either. I hold the key down and the thrust increases partialy, then goes back to idle while the key is being held down.  But thats a diffeent problem anyway. My wheel brakse work fine for landing.
