spot view

Postby arthurplum » Tue Jun 08, 2004 11:39 am

I have noticed that when I fly certain aircraft,( almost always the newer more detailed models ) that everything is fine 30fps in all views, that is until you get close to the localiser of the airport you intend to land, (can be any airport addon or default ) Then spot and tower view slump to a sloth like crawl of 6-10fps, switch back to panel view and enjoy 30fps again. As i say only occurs with certain more detailed aircraft, has anyone else experienced this problem? and does anyone know how to fix it.   Arthurplum

Noticed a decrease in performance when higher detail scenery comes into play - with me, it seems the more detailed scenery in a view, such as airports or cities, my view rate goes down to around 9fps but haven't experienced your 6fps.   I experimented with the display/scenery setting etc and found I was best with the scenery options set to medium.   It seemed that switching-off dynamic scenery also helped & this setting seems distinct from the AI (artificial intelligence) aircraft in ATC, so it doesn't diminish the pleasure factor!  Good luck!   Dizzydave. :)
