Hi JR
.Andrew is right, you need to locate the specific chart for the VOR/DME approach for the Airport/Runway you intend to land on.
A DME/VOR approach uses the VOR as a localiser and the DME (Distance Measuring Equipment) as the Glideslope.
Set your VOR 1 to the VOR frequency and enter the RWY heading as the course, intercept the course heading as you would a ILS and start descending at a rate that complies with the chart.
Once established, you guide yourself to the RWY using the DME, Altitude, AH, and DI/VOR Gauges ( There's no real reason to look out the windows!!!) lol
The chart will tel you at what hieght you need to be at and at what distance.
Example; ( for a 3 degree path )
Distance 9.2Nm 9 8 7 6.3 6 etc
Hieght 5000 4960 4640 4325 4100 4005
As with the ILS, it will also (well it should) give you a decision altitude, and a missed approach vector, and intructions awaiting ATC.
It takes a bit to get use to, especially at night !!!
Anyway hope it helps
