Cessna DME

Hi all,
This is bugging me.  Cessna 172SP  DME panel.
What does the right hand readout tell me??
Much Googling, no result.
I can see NM and Knots but what does the m symbol represent?
My navigation will be truly magnificent if only I knew :)

Believe that is ETA in minutes.

At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.
