Been using an MS Sidewinder Pro for about 7 years now without any problems-quite rugged.
I understand MS are shortly giving up the Hardware side-anyone else heard anything? :)

I've been using a $30.00 Saitek Cyborg USB for about 4 years now and am just thinking about replacing it.  It has all of the functionality of more expensive sticks, and is a lot more customizable on the grip.  The only thing it lacks is force feedback.  ;D
