FS2002 View options - Spot plane questions

Postby Apex » Sun Oct 19, 2003 9:40 pm

1)  Does anyone know how this default is determined:
    Views>View options>Spot plane>DISTANCE  ??

Is it possible to re-program this so as not to have to repeat this step each time I fly a given aircraft?  I like to spot at about 100 feet and then zoom in/out as necessary.

2)  Can this default:
Views>View options>Spot plane>GRADUAL TRANSITION be turned off permanently?

Thanks for any help here

Unfortunately, this is one of the functions that has to be set each time you use FS 2K2. ::)

Another possibility is to download ActiveCamera from the utilities pages here. This is a .dll file that sits in your Modules folder, ann converts the Tower view to a fly-by view. Then you can change the viewing parameters: distance, height.

Apex, if you don't already have ActiveCamera, I strongly suggest that you get it. It makes sim flying a whole new experience!

Unless there have been changes or upgrades, I recall that Active Camera Pro was better than just the Active Camera.
