Popular Science: X-Plane Vs. FS2002

Postby DanielF » Mon Jul 21, 2003 7:32 am

I was reading my new issue of Popular Science this morning and found an article about X-Plane.  It was a pretty interesting article.  Along with information about the program and it's author, it compared X-Plane to FS2002.
The article is available online at:

Also, there is an online article about two Popular Science workers playing X-Plane and FS2002 themselves.

Yes I am also subscribed to Pop Science. Very interesting magazine AND article. I was impressed at it. I still think it is not going to beat MSCOF but it is true what the guy says: People don't just call MS for questions, but if they call him he is there. It seems like a nice Simulator I like the airplanes available very nice! Still, I am spending my money on FSCOF

Yeah, I don't think X-Plane will beat M$ any time soon, but it's still a nice sim.  I played it once at a NASA open house.  It's pretty cool  8) but the version I played didn't have much scenery.  It's nice that Mr. Meyer tries to respond to all of his mail.

One thing I don't understand is why there is such a strong rivalry between FS and X-Plane users.   ::)

Sadly, there are some rather pathetic individuals who take games, all games not just F$, entirely too seriously.

On a related note, these same people are generally single.   Interesting. ;)
