Force feedback / air file

Postby Dougx » Wed Jul 16, 2003 9:54 pm

I posted a problem with my force feedback stick recently. I was experiencing loss of control and speed/ throttle. My FA-18 was very unstable after reaching moderate speeds and would spin wildly out of control. I found another F-18 that was rock solid  any speed. I copied air file to the unstable and it is now stable, any speed any alt. I then d/l air edit prog as air file seems to be the solution to my problem. However I am unsure what specific parameters are critical and need tweaking to resolve the problem. What I find is an alt/ speed relationship. I have a loss of control above a speed, nose goes vert  until an alitude increment is achieved then acft is stable. Question? ............ What are the significant aspects that might be tweaked in air files?????????

:) There are some tutorials explaining the air.cfg file but ther are a lot of variables that have no explanation. Usually there is a section in the aircraft.cfg file called the flight tuning section. You can adjust many of the planes handling characteristics through this section. You can look at the Microsoft aircraft container SDK which gives a detailed explanation on how this section works.
Hope this helps a little.
