PITCH TRIM RATE

Postby billand » Sun Jun 22, 2003 6:50 am

Is there any way to increase the pitch trim RATE? Mine is  too slow on my F-100 model (I used to fly the real one, so I know it's too slow).  :D

I don't think there is a way to change the rate at which the pitch trim surfaces move - but, you can open the 'Aircraft.cfg' file and find this line:

[pitot_static]
vertical_speed_time_constant =1

Change it to more than one, and it will increase the sesitivity of the autopilot to pitch variations. Bear in mind that this could induce pourpoising (spelling?) at higher altitudes.

I hope that helps a bit!  ;D

If you go to assignments, there is
a slider on the elevator trim,

- Go into the Aircraft.cfg file
- Locate the header, [flight tuning]
- near the bottom of the block you'll find "elevator_trim_effectiveness=n"
- In all likelihood it is set at 1.  Increase it to 4 or 5
- If A/P operation is important to you, check to make sure it works okay.

- enjoy
