Unfortunately, even with the release of the GfFX and Radeon 9800, the GF4 TI series is still quite expensive. A XFX Geforce4 Ti4200 128mb still costs $369.99CND. That's at Furure Shop, the only GF4Ti4200 they sell. I haven't checked out Best Buy yet. What's a good American site where I can buy a cheap GF4Ti.

I just saw a GeforceFX 5200 128mb 8X for only $99.99 at Best Buy! Will this work on my system? I have an ECS Elitegroup K7S5A mainboard with a 4X AGP pipeline.

Yes it will. Don't worry about it being an AGPx8 card in an AGPx4 slot - won't make any noticeable difference to performance.

At that price I'd be worried though. That's ridiculously cheap for a new GF FX card. Find out what's wrong with it.

It is probably one of those mail in rebate offers, where you pay full price up front, then mail off one or two rebate coupons and maybe get your money back in a year or two.

Unfortunatly, Best Buy has forgotten that it set up a Canadian franchise and don't ship to Canada. I'm going to have to get Best Buy Canada to get it in for me, they'd better not change the price.

I'm thinking of upgrading to a Geforce4 MX440 64DDR. Funny thing is that I'm one of the few who has CFS3 running smoothly. I do have a lot of non-gmax AI airtraffic. I'm going to try removing some and see what that does.

dump the MX and go for a real GF4, the MX is NOT DX8 compatible, and FS likes DX8 cards

I run a GF4 MX440 and it's quite happy sitting with DX9, never mind DX8. Obviously it doesn't take advantage of all the features on offer, but it's certainly compatible.
