New B-52 panel

Postby WebbPA » Wed Apr 02, 2003 8:14 am

Tipster,

Is it too late to vote on the classic/modern layout question?  I went back to the old posts and found only 1 that could be interpreted as a vote and that was for modern.  I'd go for modern too.

I finally downloaded Bonzonie's B-52 and while it is a good overall design (a minor but easily correctable bug in aircraft.cfg) the panel is just not up to the aircraft.

There is a gaping hole in the bottom right of the panel, the gauges are too small to be useful, every time I try to open the INS window (whatever that is) FS crashes, and the yoke is in the way.  I still haven't figured out how to open any windows except from the Alt menu.

For a look at the hole and the .cfg fix see the article here: http://www.avsim.com/pages/0202/b52_rev ... eview.html

Hi yall,I cant wait to see and download your work!Bonzonies B-52 is great, but the panel blows.I tried aFS98 panel but it was lame and another panel I found on Avsim wouldent work at all,so please do this fine plane justice and give us something great! Thanks! ;)

I was trying to be kind.  Upon further reflection I agree that the current panel blows big time.

Upon even further review it appears that some of the buttons and  gauges on the existing panel are dummies. I HATE THAT.  But I know that every button and gauge on your panel will work.   I will leave you to your artistry.

Tipster,Im not a computer whiz by any stretch.Just make it look good and WORK properly.Mabey if you want all 8 throttels,go with a dual view like the panel on Avsim that I cant make work at all.I vote for the modern look,as those are the BUFFs we fly today The D-E -F,and most of the Gs went to the smelter years ago. Hey,If you have to use a few default 747 gauges or a throttle assy, that works for me,FS2K2 doesent lend itself to perfection, for that matter, neither do most of our computers.Just do the best you can,and Im sure it will be AWESOME              SEMPHER FI!

Tipster, just as an after thought,if you could include a CRT radar that displays AI traffic, like those found on some of the better fighter panels that would be the cats ass!-Just a sugestion.
