Landing Video

Postby dandivine » Wed Mar 12, 2003 11:09 am

Does anyone know a way or even if possible to capture video of a landing and keep it as a file on the hard drive / maybe mpeg or av file.
I know you can veiw the landing ,  going to options menu.
Thanks Dan
I always thought that my airplane conveyed a silent sermon. To the earthbound observer, its silhouette was the shape of the cross on which Jesus was crucified.

When flying press the ALT button, then select OPTIONS from the menu at the top of the screen and the FLIGHT VIDEO. You can now choose to start recording your flight.
This can be played back in FS2k2, I'm not sure what format it is, so I don't know if you can convert it to mpeg....

There are two types of aeroplane, Spitfires and everything else that wishes it was a Spitfire!

The flight video merely contains instructions for the simulator. Every frame, it tells the sim to put the plane at particular co-ords, a particular altitude, with a particular airspeed, and the control surfaces in particular positions, the aircraft the follows the path until the next frame. This cannot be converted into AVI or MPEG.

I've wanted to do that for a long time. It is possible to capture a video of any motion on your desktop, but you need a vid capture software, (not sure what), and then save it as a video file that you could replay from say Media Player or Real Player. One of the guys over in the VUSAFs did it for their web site a year or two, ago, and put it to music. Absolutely awsome!!!
So, it is possible, but I'm not exactly sure how.
