Flickering Airport ( Graphics Question)

Postby Tomcat61 » Thu Mar 06, 2003 5:29 am

Hi everybody, When I am about 10 nm from my airport, the Airport taxiways flicker , like white flickering,
However when I see some screenshots of approaches, I see nice clean taxiways, and black runway.

Is there some setting I can adjust for this ?
Thanks again...Tomcat61

Have you got anti-aliasing on? Also is this a default airport or an add-on?

It's probably a memory or graphics card problem.  I get sort of the same thing that really pisses me off.  Just say surface at the airport is grass on the sides of the concrete, when I'm on approach it shows up as the same texture before the airport as a dark brown or something, then as I get closer it suddenly changes green, it happens all the time.  The other thing is that when I'm on a takeoff roll or landing roll, the runway has a horrible problem, have a look at the screenshot below!  This is when I'm getting around 15-20 frames to, with the default planes as well, I just don't have a clue what's wrong, have Direct X 9, and the latest graphics card drivers.  Please can someone help me.

Thanks a lot.
Greg

Greg, have you tried switching Anti Aliasing off?

The grass appearing through the concrete thing seems to be a bug.  There's a download that fixes it for many airports at Simviation.com's download site.

As for the flickering, I get that too.  I hope it's not an antialiasing problem, because my aircraft look so much better with antialiasing switched on.

Thanks for replying.  My Anti Aliasing is switched on, and in my graphics card settings it is set to full, direct 3D, I think it's 8 speed.  All of my settings are ticked in the hardware settings.

Thanks for that Beery, what is the name of that file?  Do you know?  Well I'm going to go and have a look, it'd be a lot faster if someone could guide me in the correct direction.

Happy Flying,
Greg

It's called aprnfx7.  I looked for it yesterday but couldn't find it.
