FS2002 Standard version-1974 Duke B60 panel

This conversion took me a lot longer than I thought but it's now ready. It's as close I could get for FS2002 Standard users allowing for the gauges available.

I have a few versions of the Garmin Radios as it happens. Some have more buttons and, depending on personal preference, might be visually more appealing.

However, whilst they have a couple more functions, they're also littered with dummy buttons.

The biggest problem with them is that because they're so complex, they really require a pop-up window of some size in order that the buttons can be read properly. Obviously this wasn't an option for this particular panel as visual accuracy was the primary objective.

The blue displays themselves btw, remain pretty uniform throughout all the versions I have.

As a general comment to designers, I HATE DUMMY BUTTONS.  If it ain't functional don't put it in.

Nothing worse than a "photorealistic" panel where half the buttons/gauges do nothing.

Personally, I couldn't agree more.

I find it frustrating more than anything else when there are buttons that you either can't click at all or if you can, they then do nothing.

I only included the nav lights button on the Duke panel because I'm sure it'll work when Chuck Dome introduces his FSDS2 version. (The current one has them permanently on, built into the mdl file).

Still, some people prefer 100% visual authenticity with button being where they should be even if they don't work. However you won't find them on my panels. Priority #1 for me is always functionality. Visual appearance will never compromise that.

100% authenticity?  The most advanced plane I may ever fly in real life is a Cessna 172.  I've never even seen, nor am I likely to,  the cockpit of a 747 or F-15.  So maybe some 747 or F-15 pilot may notice that a panel is not 100% realistic but this is a SIMULATION.
