Flight Simulator 2000 and Windows XP

Hi!,
When I start FS 2000 on Windows XP, it just stops on the splash screen with the concord.

Your system specs are similar to mine, and I get the same problem when I install some addons that for some reason the program doesn't seem to like. Last time I reinstalled FS2000 (Pro) I added one addon at a time and restarted the program. If it failed I would remove the last thing I installed.
