Okay scratching my head on this one

I recently got a copy of FS2K and I have Windows 8 64bit. I installed the Microsoft patch and ran it under compatibility mode with Windows XP Service Pack 3. All installs well then it just hangs at the splash screen. Oh the torment of it all. How do I get this up and running? What's weird is that FS98 works perfectly fine on this system so I can't figure out why FS2K won't. Can any of you fine people help me get it up and running? Best regards, Jeremy <<q

Ughhh I can only imagine the graphics with that old sim I used to have 2000 and 2002 Pro, back in 2002 thru 2005.

I've still got my old jewel-case copies of FS '98, FS 2000, and FS 2002 safely stored away for "nostalgic use".... :) ....

But for day-to-day use, I use my latest copies of FS 2004 and FSX...they are much nicer!..... ....!

The old versions are useful for comparing the graphics against the newer versions, now and again....but that's about all!

Paul.....A collector of old computer software...but don't use it very often!.... ...!

Yeah, I like my old games, the reason I want to get this up and running so bad is because my goal is to have every Flight Simulator on CD on my puter and enjoy playing them. Heck, I still have Atari and Intellevision. Lol I like retro. @ Paul, your situation doesn't surprise me in the least. Remind me to get you a Commadore 64 my good friend. :) I tried looking for the old tape computers but no joy. So sorry, maybe next Christmas. Lol Best regards, Jeremy P.S. Still trying to get it to work and need advice on how to do this. <<v

Jr...

Is your copy of FS 2000 a new copy, in an unopened Jewel case?
I occasionally have problems with old, worn, used copies of programs which have possible errors on the CD's!
Otherwise it should run OK...mine does.
Try un-installing it, switching the computer off, back on, and reinstalling it again!
Its often fun running old versions of the Flight Sim, just to observe how much they have improved over the years!

Paul.... :D ...!

P.S...8-bit Junkie...and I do have my Commodore C64, as well as my Spectrum 48k's and Amstrad CPC 464, Amiga 1200, etc...and all their hardware and games!.... ....!
