and the ENTIRE Frickin City Shuts Down, Cancels ALL Public School Classes for that Day , on a Bright Dry Warm Sun Shiny Day, Temps normal

NO SCHOOL Across the City for everybody were Shuttin' er' Down !!!

I think that's pretty common in towns whose teams win major sports championships.

I live near Miami so I haven't experienced that in 20 years or so. I think the baseball team won the World Series 10 years ago. The football team (Dolphins) - forget it.

It happened here when the Broncos won their two Super Bowls, and when the Avalanche won their 2nd Stanley Cup.

The Rockies came close when they went to the World Series in '07... The Nuggets, a slight maybe.
