Wife of Dolphins' Brent Grimes arrested before Miami-Buffalo game

Miko Grimes, the wife of Dolphins cornerback Brent Grimes, was arrested on Sunday before Miami's catastrophic loss to the Buffalo Bills. Grimes was arrested for resisting with violence and battery on a law enforcement officer, according to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel.

NBC 6 South Florida's Adam Kuperstein said a witness claimed that Grimes tried to cross a police barricade before getting tackled by a cop. Kuperstein also reported Grimes was "belligerent" and started screaming obscenities. She resisted arrest and head-butted an officer, which is likely what led to the charge of battery on a law enforcement officer. She also tried kicking an officer and started swinging her elbows as she resisted.

According to the Sun-Sentinel, Grimes was booked into jail in Miami-Dade County and later released on bond. The Sun-Sentinel also said she was treated for injuries to her knee, arm and forearm.

Grimes was threatened with a taser, the Sun-Sentinel said as it cited the police report, and she complied. But when she was being transported for booking on a golf cart she started to resist again.

Miko Grimes out as WQAM radio host

Miko Grimes will no longer serve as a radio host on 560-WQAM, the station's program director said Wednesday.

Grimes, wife of Dolphins star cornerback Brent Grimes, was arrested Sunday outside Sun Life Stadium before the Dolphins’ game against the Buffalo Bills on charges of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

Grimes, 40, of Davie, did not make her usual appearance on Monday’s "Big O Show" on WQAM with host Orlando Alzugaray. She had also co-hosted a weekend show on the station with the Sun Sentinel’s Omar Kelly.

“I can confirm she is no longer an employee at our station,” WQAM program director Ryan Maguire said Wednesday night. “Other than that, I have no further comment on the matter.”

Judge: Brent Grimes' wife may travel to London amid charges

MIAMI -- A judge has granted the wife of a Miami Dolphins player permission to travel to London to watch the team play while she faces disorderly conduct charges.

Miko Grimes was in court Thursday, just days after she was arrested outside the stadium before the team's most recent game. She is facing charges of disorderly conduct, battery on a police officer and resisting arrest with violence.

Grimes, who is the wife of cornerback Brent Grimes, was arrested Sunday after authorities say she disobeyed an officer's command to stop, became combative and head-butted an officer.

Grimes is schedule to be back in court on Oct. 6.

The Dolphins will try to bounce back from a 41-14 loss to Buffalo when they play Sunday against the Jets in London.
