Here are the official standings.

In the AFC East the Dolphins are out of it. I don't think we've won a playoff game in 20 years. Of course New England never had much competition anyway.

A couple more teams have clinched playoff positions, Peyton Manning's Broncos and the Suck for Luck Colts.

The Super Bowl will be played on February 1 at 6:30 pm (Eastern) at University of Phoenix Stadium and televised on NBC, right after the end of the Phoenix Open golf tournament featuring Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson, assuming they make the cut (3-6 pm Eastern on CBS).

Don't feel too bad Jim, at least when they did make it to the Super Bowl (VII & VIII) they figured out how to win it unlike my home town Buffalo Bills or the closest team to me right now the Vikings. Four trips each to the Super Bowl and came up empty handed. These two losers have turned me off to pro football.

I used to watch the Superbowl but not any longer.
It seems like a ten minute break after every play
and then a never ending series of commercials.

I remember many years ago when they played
the game and not a million ads.Same for CFL.

That's why the Super Bowl is no longer a Football Game, but a Spectacle. When the emphasis turns to the best Commercial, or people tune in to see if the Halftime show includes a 'wardrobe malfunction' or other social faux pas, instead of the actual Game... you can thank the Almighty Sawbuck for that.

BTW... I'm not saying this because our NFL Franchise embarrassed themselves, and our City in last year's SB, and got pasted by an inferior team this year...

these days but I used to enjoy that.

I watch a bit of Rugby Union Internationals.

Unfortunately can't get Hockey here. Miss that.

Super Bowl's Arizona host may be on the hook for millions

Super Bowl host cities can see a major economic boost when the NFL comes to town.

But the mayor of Glendale, Arizona - home to Super Bowl XLIX - is questioning the money-making potential of this year's big game, CBS News' David Begnaud reports.

"I think if you looked in the till at the end of the day, I think you'll have less money in it than came in," said Glendale Mayor Jerry Weiers.

Weiers suspects that when the sun sets on Super Bowl XLIX, the only real loser may be his city.

"I'm sure that we're going to spend $3 million," Weiers said. "I would hope, in tax revenues, that we can actually account for well over a million, probably 1.2, 3."

Roughly, that would be a $2 million loss, and he's basing his projection on history. When Glendale hosted the Super Bowl in 2008, the city estimates it lost $1.6 million.
