With yesterday's rain there are still a couple of players finishing their first round. Forecast calls for a dry weekend but we'll still see a few players finishing their second round on Saturday.

As of now we have

Luke Donald -4 through 3
Phil Mickelson -3 (3:41 tee time)

Tiger Woods +3 through 1

The projected cut is +4

Tiger ended his second round even par, +3 for the tournament.

The only two players under par have just started their second rounds.

Phil Mickelson -2
Nicolas Colsaerts -2

Going to be a memorable weekend; Merion is showing that 'bomb and gouge' isn't always the best route to go.

The US Open and the British Open showcase and reward good course management and an ability to keep your emotions in check, even when everyone else is caught in the maelstrom...

What a day! Nine guys within five of the lead, which seemed to change with almost every stroke!

It's shaping up to be an epic Sunday at Merion; will Phil do it? Tomorrow's his birthday, you know...

Sometimes it's your day - Shawn Stefani hit a hole in one on 17.

Sometimes it's not - Tiger hit a triple bogey 8 on 2. He's now 12 shots behind Phil Mickelson.

Wow... Tiger finishes at +13!

The leaders are trading shots back and forth... double bogeys abound!

Justin kept his cool, Phil's flatstick failed him (again), Jason Day gave it a good run, but the real winner was... MERION.

US Open setups challenge the player's abilities, just as they should; the ultimate expression of 'risk vs. reward'.

Can't wait until the British @ Muirfield... another ultimate test for the field.
