Just realized the only two people on here who talk hockey with me like the two teams ill hate the most this year. Detroit (obviously) and Vancouver (because they will be hard to beat in the division)....its a very good thing we don't have Sharks fans here...I might use to profanity.   :o ;D

It's a damn good thing there's no Sharks fans in here, I would probably lose my moderator status  ;D

Vancouver I don't mind so much since they are Canadian, I always respect a Canadian team, as long as the Wings beat them  ;)

I didn't realize until crossfire said something that we are the only two hockey heads in here.  I know Cory (willitrun) is a big Flyers fan but he doesn't hang out here.

Just think, when the Wings win the Stanley Cup, we're going to go back to page one of this thread and read all the way through the season, all the memories we are posting  :)  ;D

Kevin Porter...ever heard of him? Got him from Phoenix last year along with the Mueller and Wolski trade. Well he's got the Avalanche the last 3 game winners. Avs continue to win with a 4 game win streak as we beat Dallas in Shootout thanks to Porter. Although it wont count as a goal he's had the last 3 game winners. Budaj played a good game, lots of great saves in the highlight reel. I didn't get to listen or watch this game as my ice hockey preseason started tonight.

We blew a 3-0 lead which wasn't very good. Unlike the last few games, we started really good in this game then fell apart as it went on. I like Budaj in net, but feel MUCH more comfortable with Anderson in net. Avs just took solid first place of the Northwest Conference...20 games 25 points...4 game win streak.

I'm having a fun time watching my Avs.  8-)

Calgary dominated the Wings tonight, 3-1 lead, then 4-2 lead, then 4-3 lead...then after knocking the puck out of the zone with 7 seconds left, Datsyuk grabs the puck, drives it in, pass to Zetterburg, 3 seconds left in regulation...SCOOOOOOOOORRRREEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Then we win in OT.   8-)

In hockey, age means experience.  Remember hockey is a lot like chess, it's more than just brute strength even though it looks like they are all just slamming into each other and trying to be the harder hitter.  They need to exercise patience and set up the play. Plus hockey players play so much for so long that they stay in great shape, unlike NFL.

You know this man, you play hockey.  Younger teams have their hotshot players (Crosby...) but if you look at NHL stats, older teams are usually more successful over all.
