July 19-22.

Can Darren Clarke defend?

Can Tiger contend?

Will Phil shoot three good rounds?

Can Bubba or Webb notch a second major in one year?

How about the youngsters, Rory and Rickie?

Luke Donald is #1 in the world.

That was a pretty fun first round.  The weather didn't have much impact.

Some big names at the top of the leaderboard:

Adam Scott (course record) -6

Ernie, Bubba, Tiger, Graeme, Rory, Steve (Stricker) all at -3.

Phil is tied for 99th place at +3 (only the top 70 play on the weekend).

If the weather stays like this I think I'll take a golf vacation (holiday) to Lancashire.

After 2 rounds:

Brandt Snedeker -10
Adam Scott -9
Tiger Woods -6

Be sure to check out Tiger's hole out on 18 from one of those monstrous British Open pot bunkers. Link

Phil Mickelson +11 (missed cut)

After 3 rounds Tiger is down by 5.  Look for a little more wind Sunday but no rain.

Adam Scott -11
Graeme McDowell -7

Brandt Snedeker -7
Tiger Woods -6

What a finish.  Adam Scott hit 4 bogies in the last 4 holes to give the tournament to Ernie Els.

Ernie Els -7
Adam Scott -6

Tiger shot +3 today to end in a tie for third with Brandt Snedeker at -3.
